In 2003, Wayne Marshall and Greg Peterson co-founded Petra Engineering, an energy services company that integrates renewable energy, demand-side and supply-side solutions to meet the needs of target markets.
As the team grew, our focus moved to solar and bioenergy projects. We invested in, built, owned and operated renewable energy assets across the Southeast. We expanded our reach and formed a joint venture with an institutional partner to invest in a $100+ million portfolio. We also became the small EPC provider for an industry-leading company, building projects along the East Coast.
Since inception, our team has accumulated more than $1 billion and 400 MW of renewable energy and energy efficiency experience. This includes more than 103 MW of engineering, procurement and construction experience for solar projects alone.
In 2019, our leadership began building a relationship with hep to develop and own solar projects. We have since joined forces to form hep Petra with the goal of developing, building and operating solar projects in the US. Our companies share common values of environmental stewardship, which makes the partnership a natural fit. The joint ownership relationship broadens our geographical reach within the US and positions hep Petra to be an industry leader in doing solar the right way.
